MEDICAL DESCRIPTION OF MODALERT TABLET:

Modalert tablet contains the active substances called Modafinil (100mg) a stimulant used to treat obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and shift work sleep disorder. It produces its action by altering the amount of certain substances in the brain that help to regulate sleep and wakefulness.

USE OF MODALERT TABLET (Indication of Modafinil):        

It is used in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and shift work sleep disorder.

Obstructive sleep apnea:

It is a sleep-associated breathing disorder. This usually occurs when you cannot breathe when you fall asleep due to windpipe blockage. Symptoms include morning headache, difficulty sleeping, awakening with dry mouth, hypersomnia, irritability, difficulty paying attention, and loud snoring.

Narcolepsy:

HOW TO TAKE A MODALERT TABLET:

Inform the doctor, if you have the following complications earlier,

If you have a medical history of GI tract disease

If you have an immunodeficiency disease like the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) /Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

If you have allergic conditions like itching and rashes

If you are planning to become pregnant or currently under the breastfeed

If you are suffering from diarrhea, stomach pain, etc

DRUG INTERACTION WITH MODALERT TABLET

Interaction with the drugs:

Use of Modafinil along with the linezolid increase the risk of acute hypertensive episodes.

Clarithromycin will increase the level of modafinil by affecting its intestinal or hepatic enzymes.

Lorlatinib and modafinil increase the risk of severe hepatotoxicity.

Albuterol and modafinil decrease the effect of sedation

Intake of caffeine along with armodafinil increases the blood pressure and heart rate.

OVERDOSE

Consume the medicine as per the doctor’s advice and prescribed dose and dosage. Avoid taking any extra dose of medicine then original prescribed dose.Do not overdose for the immediate effect,which leads to undesired effects. If you have taken the overdose/extra dose of the medicine immediately visit the doctor or nearby hospital for medical consultation.

MISSED DOSE

Take the medicine as per the prescription of doctor.

Take only dose and dosage prescribed by the doctor and doctor advice.
